Question: Do you believe that we are indeed living in the "last Days"? I see many signs that would suggest this may be so, but then again--people have been saying this for many, many years. Do you believe that the Antichrist will cause a "Tribulation period"? If so, do you think that this will happen in our lifetime? Does the LDS church preach on this subject?
Response: You asked if I believe that we are indeed living in the last days. Yes, I surely do. It was prophesied about by all the ancient prophets, the apostles, and the Savior Himself. In these last days, the Savior has so declared it in modern scripture known as the Doctrine and Covenants of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
You said that people have been saying this for many, many years, and so far the Savior has not come. That is true, but I am confident that compared to the thousands of years man has existed upon the earth, it will be a very short time before the Savior returns again.
You asked if I believe that the anti-Christ will cause a "tribulation period." Yes, I do, and yes he does. The great trials and tribulations currently manifest throughout the world are taking place because of the influence of Satan upon the hearts of men and women around the world who seek power, riches, and domination of others, all of which are Satan-inspired. In almost every place we look in the world where there is war and contention, it is motivated by those same selfish desires men have to dominate others. There is so much more to be done on the earth before the Savior comes again, but we must all be on guard that we do not fall into the trap of being unprepared for the Lord’s second coming.
