Question: Just to let you know. That if you do not believe in God thru Jesus which is told to us in The Book of John. You will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Jesus tells you this specifically in the book. Which means that when you die your body does not house your spirit anymore. You will go for judgement day. How do you baptise the dead that is bogus in the belief.
Christians belief that baptism still takes place here in churches all over. That is living bodies not dead. I don't understand that belief on the dead. It doesn't make sense and serves no purpose at all.
Believe in God thru his son that died for our sins so that we may live again.
Response: Thanks for your statement that all men and women must believe in God through Jesus. I agree, and to that I would add the Savior’s specific statement on that subject, found in John 3:5: "Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
I am surprised, though, that you call baptism for the dead "bogus," since this was a doctrine being preached and practiced in Christ’s church after His crucifixion. You’ll notice that Paul refers to it when preaching to the Corinthians. (See I Cor. 15:29). 29 "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?"
Paul’s question makes it perfectly clear that the practice of baptism for the dead was in fact taking place in those days. Its purpose was to fulfill Christ’s directive that all men must receive the ordinance.
What we specifically believe, is that if men and women come to the earth and do not have the opportunity to hear and understand the gospel message, they will receive that opportunity in the spirit world, after they die. We know this is true from the words of Peter (see I Peter 3:18-19 & I Peter 4:6). Once the gospel is preached to the dead and they have the opportunity to be baptized by proxy, they can then be fairly judged just like all those of us who have already had the opportunity to hear and understand the great gospel message.
