Heavenly Parents...Does this refer to the trinity?

No. The Trinity consists of God the Eternal Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Our "Heavenly Parents" suggests exactly what it implies, "Parents." We believe that everyone who has lived on earth or who ever will live on earth are actual spiritual offspring of God the Eternal Father. (Numbers 16:22; Hebrews 12:9) Even though the scriptures may contain only hints of an Eternal Mother, statements from prophets of the church over the years have told us that we do, in fact, have a Heavenly Mother as well as a Heavenly Father. It's obvious that parenthood requires both a father and a mother, whether for the creation of spirits in the premortal life or physical bodies on earth. Our Heavenly Mother shares parenthood with our Heavenly Father. This concept leads us to believe that she is like him in glory, perfection, compassion, wisdom, and holiness. What a beautiful principle this is; to know that we have Heavenly Parents who are equal in glory. This doctrine of a celestial Father and Mother, who share "all power" and have "all things . . . subject unto them" (D&C 132:20) is an inviting example to all of us as their children to emulate their perfect love and unity and become like them. One of my favorite songs that we sing in church is called "O My Father" (page #292 in our hymn book) In the heav'ns are parents single? No, the thought makes reason stare! Truth is reason; truth eternal Tells me I've a mother there. When I leave this frail existence, When I lay this mortal by, Father, Mother, may I meet you In your royal courts on high?
