"WE believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Pearl of Great Price | Articles of Faith 1:1,2,4)
In other words and in addition, we believe and know that Jesus Christ is:
- The firstborn of all of our Heavenly Father's children, "...the firstborn of every creature." (Colossians 1:15)
- The one whom our Heavenly Father "hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;" (Hebrews 1:2)
- One whose miraculous birth was announced by an "angel [and] a multitude of the heavenly host." (Luke 2:13)
- The "...the only begotten of the Father" born of the virgin Mary. (John 1:14)
- One whose ministry was filled with healing and other mighty miracles.
- The perfect example: "...leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps." (1 Peter 2:21)
- Our Savior who overcame death on the cross and through the resurrection: "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive." (1 Corinthians 15:22)
- Our Redeemer who "...by himself purged our sins, (Hebrews 1:3)
- He that "...preached unto the spirits in prison" (1 Peter 3:19) and initiated its teaching in the spirit world "For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit." (1 Peter 4:6)
- He that was "...taken up ... into heaven" (Acts 1:11) and "...sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;" (Hebrews 1:3)
- He that "...shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11) in a glorious second coming.
- The King of Kings who will reign over the earth during the millennium.
- The one who will "...judge the world in righteousness ." (Acts 17:31)
- He that said "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you...that where I am, there ye may be
also. (John 14:2 - 3)
I have a deep personal conviction that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, that he is our Savior and Redeemer, that he lives and loves us and desires that we follow him and prepare to dwell with him and our Father.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
