You are asking good questions. This question can be expanded to all who have lived and died without the opportunity to learn the fullness of the gospel and have not had a chance to do all that is necessary in mortality to partake of the greatest blessing offered in the eternities. Most have concluded that God in his mercy will forgo the requirements he has prescribed in behalf of these. This will not be the case. Instead of withdrawing the commandment such as the requirement to be baptized (see John 3:5) or being bound in the temple in an eternal marriage for the highest eternal future, he has implemented a way for all to have the opportunity to know the gospel and choose for themselves whether they will accept and follow the Lord or not.
Jesus, while his body was in the tomb preached to the Spirits in the spirit world: 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; (1 Peter 3:18 - 19) 6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. (1 Peter 4:6) The Lord has also provided for his requirements to all be completed by proxy where the living can perform ordinances such as baptism (see 1 Corinthians 15:29) and even eternal marriage in behalf of those who did not have this opportunity in their lives. The thousand year Millinium beginning at the Lord's Second Coming will be a time when there will be open communication between the world of spirits and those who are mortals and every adjustment that is needed for the Lord's pure justice to be fulfilled and, of course maintained will take place. This simply means that every opportunity that is offered by the Lord will ultimately be available to every last soul without him compromising his divine requirements.
His is a perfect plan
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
