Beliefs > Question & Answer > Trials

Question I just wanted to thank you for answering my question I had wriiten previously, I now have a better understanding and feel good knowing i will see him again, yes i had looked into adoption and was told this was back in 82, that i was too overweight and the system didn't think i would live long enough to raise a child. So betwen losing my son and more misscarraiges than i care to count i accepted the fact i was not meant to have children. i was bitter for a long time, went thru a divorce and really was messed up. I never lost faith that this happened for a reason ang god wanted something for me.My ex had told me that he made a pact with god and said he could take my son as long as he would give me another to raise, well when i found that out, i lost it and figuered my son had not made it to heavan and i was being punished.I had guilt for many years, I have since remarried and have been raising my husbands two boys, who are now 17 15 and doing very well. Their mother dropped them in our laps 9 years ago and haven;t bothered with them since, not once, even tho my relationship with my husband isn;t all that great, I have stuck it out for the boys, I promised them i wouldn't leave them and made sure they have a good life. I have to admit it hasn't been easy, but i feel this is what i must do..Life is tough and we all must be strong. I have to admit that the only thing that has kept me going is hoping that i will see my son again and you have restored that for me.. so for that i thank you with all my heart. I knew you wouldn't try to just smooth it over. you are an amazing person. I pray for you too as i know you have gone thru your own trials.. Take care and God Bless...

Response Thank you so much for your generous thank you. I am pleased if my response was at all helpful. It is interesting to realize that everyone has challenges. Nick, one of my friends who has done some of our video production, often reminds us of his wife’s saying: “Every one has a story that if we only knew, it would break our heart.” I have found that there is a lot of truth in her little saying. Another friend of mine heard Nick tell his wife’s saying and it prompted him to write the following verse.

If I’d Only Known Everybody has a story They likely have not shared A story that would break your heart And make you wish you’d cared. Everyone has had to struggle; Yes, everyone knows pain. We all have had to learn to smile When sunshine turns to rain. If all of us will just reach out And join our hands together, Then all of us can make it through In any kind of weather. Let’s treat each other just as if The story, we had known. So burdens are made lighter By the caring we have shown. If I’d only known your story, If your story you had told, If I’d have seen your suffering, I’d never been so cold.

I hope your life continues to improve as time heals the wounds and that you will find the joy and happiness you deserve just over the horizon.

Thank you for you kind remarks,

Sincerely,

Donny Osmond
