| Question |
I've got a couple of questions regarding the LDS church, or rather their
views on certain issues and was wondering if you could help.
First of all, myself and my three children are saved but my husband isn't,
how would this be viewed by the LDS church? Also, would I be expected to
tithe on the family income, being as at the moment my husbands income is the
only family income and being a non-believer flatly refuses to give to the
church as he views them as being "money grabbing".
Secondly, how does the church view working mothers, is it the view of the
church that wives and mothers should not work outside the home?
Thanks for your time.

Every family, every person, has a life with a unique set of circumstances.
That is why only the Lord can judge us and I am confident he will judge us by the intentions of our hearts. He knows us and understands our circumstances. You need to do what you feel is right in your heart as you are lead by his spirit.
Your only choice is to follow the Lord with your sons as best you can, be forgiving and accepting toward your husband and father and the day may come that he will see the positive effect the gospel has in your lives and will want to have that in his life. I suggest you keep praying for him and loving him.
Our church encourages families to learn to live within their means, and that the mothers place is in the home. Although, this is not always possible, and so the Church does all it can to support families in rearing
their children in righteousness.
I wish you the very best,
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
