I read in one of your previous posts that the trials we go through in life are meant to help us learn and grow. Recently I have had endless trials that are just giving me unbearable pain and sadness. I have had 4 of my best
mates die in the past 2 months, all of whom are under 21. Two died through tragic accidents (ages 16 + 21), one was beaten to death (16) and the other
died of a disease (18). I have also found out that my father is dying from cancer. I just don't see an end to this, and I don't see how this is teaching me anything. All I can see is the people I care most about leaving.
If you have time, please could you try to explain exactly how these occurances are supposed to bring me closer to the lord? How is this teaching
me a valuable lesson? I really don't understand.

I am so very sorry for the losses you have experienced. I don't know the full circumstances surrounding the deaths of your friends, but it seems to be an extremely unusual experience you have had to have so much sorrow, especially in such a short period of time.
You won't have to look very far, however, to find people who are suffering as much or even more than you are and all I can say, is if you can endure this with courage, you will be a better person for it. Everyone has the choice, when
trouble comes, to react either by becoming bitter or by becoming a person with greater character, faith and courage. In the months to come, I can assure you, if you will remain loyal to the Lord in praying for his support, you will find out that he does love you and that he will bless you for the way you handle your trials.
