How are you? :) My name is Emma Smith, I'm 16 and from England. Thanks so
much for taking time out of your busy life to answer our beliefs questions
they are always so interesting to read. I love reading and learning about
different religions and beliefs. You're a wonderful man! :) You set such a
good example of how to lead a good life, you're my hero! Thank you! :)xxxx
Here's my question:
At school lately I have been learning about, 'The Apostles Creed,' and what
each lines means etc. I just wanted to write to you and ask what is the LDS
church view on this and do you believe in it too?
I was told that 'The Apostles Creed,' was the main Christians beliefs, and
is used by all Christians to express their faith.
Apostles Creed:
I believe in God, the father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was concieved by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary,
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of
saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the boyd, And the life
everlasting.
Amen.
I know that you don't belive in; 'The Holy Catholic Church,' but do you say
this just excusing that one line? Do you believe everything else stated
except for that part? Like Saints and Mary interceding with God on our
behalf etc?
If you do answer this question thank you so much, I'd love to hear your
opinion and belief :)

You are faced with a world that has very difficult challenges and enticements. It will take a lot of courage to be a true
follower of Christ, but I promise you that if you will, you will find the
peace and happiness that can be found in no other way.
If we were to insert The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in place of "The Holy Catholic Church", it would define our beliefs about God and Christ very well.
