I have observed that this family closeness is typical
in our church. I know countless families with the same love for each
other that my family has.
Of course none of us, nor our family relationships
are perfect and we all stand in need of repentance and forgiveness from
the Lord like that which you feel. Isn't it wonderful to know that
as we learn, grow and improve, we can be forgiven for past mistakes.
I do believe there are specific steps that must be taken to optimize this
process of repentance and forgiveness. The Lord and his apostles
made it clear that once we accepted Christ as our Savior, we then needed
to "Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive
the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts
2:38)
As you have likely determined from reading "my
beliefs" section of my web site, I have this strong conviction that Jesus
has personally restored his church to the earth. If it is truly his
church, it will not only teach his doctrine and have the priesthood authority
to baptize in his name, but will exemplify his love and acceptance to the
repentant who come unto him.
Regarding coming to our church meetings, you will
find that you will be most welcome to fully investigate our church and
if you believe and are willing, you can become a member in full standing.
Believe me, you are not alone. There are many, even in my ward, that are
in your situation and enjoy full fellowship.
I am sure you can find what you are looking for
as it relates to you and your daughter.
Let me know if I can help further. I would
love to send some of my friends to help you understand more if you would
like. Jesus promised that if we,
"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye
shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:"
(Matthew 7:7)
Thanks again for your email, your question and
your nice remarks.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
