Thank you for your questions.
I agree totally with the scriptures that you quote. I think that
in the answer you referred to, I may not have made it very clear, and I'm
sorry if that's the case, because we do not believe that everyone will
go to heaven. On the contrary. We must accept and follow Christ
to be able to enter into the Kingdom of God.
The first step is that we have faith in Christ and accept him as our
personal Savior, but the scriptures make it clear that we must then repent,
be baptized, receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands
and then "...he that endureth to the end shall
be saved" (Matthew 10:22)
"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is
the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it"
(Matthew 7:14).
We do believe that all will be resurrected "For
since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive"
(Corinthians 15:20-22).
But after the resurrection comes the judgment, as was seen by John as
he wrote: "And I saw the dead, small and
great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was
opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those
things which were written in the books, according to their works.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered
up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according
to their works." (Revelation
20:12-13)
Sorry for the misunderstanding. Thank you so much for your email
and allowing me to clarify. I hope this does.
[BEV'S NOTE: "All will be made alive",
means simply that ALL will receive a new body... or in other words ALL
will be Resurrected. It does not mean all will be exalted and live
with God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ throughout Eternity.]
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
