The white clothing is not exclusive to a "burial dress." White clothing is worn for many events including the attire we wear in the temples and for baptism. Its only symbolism is to represent purity before God.
Another reason everyone wears white in the temple is the fact that The Lord is not a respecter of persons. (see Colossians 3:25) Everyone in the temple, temple workers and patrons alike, are dressed in white clothing and are free of worldly ornamentation to represent equality.
Righteousness is associated with white clothing in the scriptures. For instance, in Revelation 3:5 it says: "He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."
