There was a time when I was 16 when I felt I was a hypocrite because I was telling everyone that I knew the church was true and had never really and
sincerely read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Then at that point I felt I really needed to read it sincerely, really wanting a testimony. I did
receive a witness that the Book of Mormon is true. So I guess that the answer to this questions is, no. I never have swayed in my testimony, once I
received it.
But I think a testimony needs constant strengthening. I don't take mine for granted. As a family, we have scripture study almost every night. I also try
to have my own personal scripture study regularly. I could never deny my testimony but I feel I need to constantly nurture it.
Consider what the Lord said to Nephi, "For behold, thus saith the Lord God: I will give unto the children of men line upon line, precept upon precept, here
a little and there a little; and blessed are those who hearken unto my precepts, and lend an ear unto my counsel, for they shall learn wisdom; for unto him
that receiveth I will give more; and from them that shall say, We have enough, from them shall be taken away even that which they have." (2 Nephi 28:30)
I hope that answers your question.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
