First, it is very difficult to give an opinion without knowing the full extent of the situation, but I will do my best. In Matthew Chapter 9 versus
10 12, it says: "And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto the disciples, why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when Jesus heard that, he said unto
them, they that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick."
Of course, Jesus wasn't talking about people who were physically ill, but were spiritually ill. He spent his time ministering to those who needed his
help.
Alcoholism is an illness that is both physical and spiritual. Those who suffer from this serious disease need all the help they can receive from friends
and family, medical professionals, and also from the Spirit of the Lord gained through fasting and prayer.
Jesus himself sat and dined with "sinners" and those in need of his loving assistance. He didn't "banish" them. He helped them and called them to
repentance.
I would encourage you and your family to follow the example of Jesus and reach out and assist those in your family who so desperately need your loving
help.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
