Beliefs > Question & Answer > LDS View of God

Question Donny, do you believe in divine intervention? I have had a dear friend, who is a Mormon help me thru out my trials and tribulations from a horrible abusive marriage and divorce. Our friendship spans 5 years. In my apartment I have met some LDS sister missionaries and I have been studying with them. Through this I found out my ex-boyfriend who is still in my life is a Mormon also. Could this all be part of God's Plan?

Response I definitely believe that God knows and watches over each and every one of his children. He knows us specifically and has known us for eons of time, long before we came to this earth when we were in his presence as his spirit children and even though he has allowed you to suffer the pain of the abusive marriage, he blesses you today with the opportunity to learn the plan of salvation from his representatives and I'm sure He will put you into positions in the future to share what you have learned with others who have suffered this same kind of abuse. John 9:1-3 make it clear that our Father in heaven allows his children to suffer certain trials in order to use them to bless the lives of others people later.

Thanks for writing. I know the Lord will bless you with all the righteous desires of your heart as you continue to do what is right.

Sincerely,

Donny Osmond
