Beliefs > Question & Answer > Comparing The LDS Church and Other Religions
| Question |
I am Catholic and send my
toddlers to a Mormon home for day care. I would like to know if it is considered to be in bad form for a Mormon to maintain friendships with
non-believers. I have a feeling that you may not want to answer this question, but I would really like to know. Is this acceptable? If so, to what
degree?

| Response |
In no way is it considered to be in bad form for a Mormon to maintain friendships with what you refer to as a non-believers. I assume that what you
meant to say was "non-Mormon". In
fact, it is just the opposite. Our Church leaders have counseled us
regularly to be good neighbors and good friends in our community. You can imagine that in my business there are not very many members of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most of my close friends in this industry belong to other religions or don't belong to any religion at all, yet I
consider them to be friends of mine and I hope they feel the same about me.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
