Our Father in Heaven is the Supreme Being. It is he who created us spiritually eons of time ago, long before we came to this earth. Along with all
of us, he created Jesus Christ. In fact, Jesus was the "first born" of the Father spiritually and was with him in the beginning when all other things were
being created.
We believe that under the direction of the Father, Christ was the creator of the heavens and the earth (see Hebrews 1:1-3). We believe
further that Jesus Christ, our
Savior, is the "only begotten" Son of God in the flesh, as he and his
apostles so testified to the people throughout the records of the New
Testament. We further believe that when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, and take upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ and promise to
always remember him and keep his commandments, we then become
his adopted sons and daughters spiritually. Therefore, one could
rightly say that we believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in his Son,
Jesus Christ, who is also our God. They are not the same person, but they are separate and distinct individuals, but they are one in mind, and one in
purpose (see John 17:9-11 and 20-23). We pray to our Father in Heaven in the name of Christ as it is only through him that we can come unto the Father.
May I invite a couple of representatives of our church to visit with you to explain exactly what we believe and why. After you've had a chance to hear and
understand their message, then you'll know whether or not this is worth pursuing. If you'd like me to send them, please email me back with your address
and phone number and I'll be happy to have them call on you.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
