I try and be home as often as I can on weekends so that I can attained my regular Sunday meetings with my family, but, as you can imagine, with
my extreme travel schedule, that isn't always possible and so, yes, I find an LDS Church in the city where I am for that weekend and attend church services
there. Even though it may not always be very "convenient," I go because I want to renew my baptismal covenants by taking the sacrament. I want the uplift
of the Spirit to help me get through the next week. It regenerates me and helps build my testimony so I can withstand the temptations and trials that come
from every day life. I feel it is a blessing and also an opportunity to show my Heavenly Father that I love Him and that I want to keep his commandments
and to draw closer to Him. It gives me a
chance to show my dedication to Him.
I encourage you to become active once again in the Church.
You can do it if you want to and the Lord will bless you for your
faithfulness. Find the chapel in your new area and make it a point to attend the meetings there. Introduce yourself to the Bishop and other members and
get involved in their activities and other meetings. I know that if you make an effort, you can find great companionship and love there.
In addition, however, begin your morning and evening prayers and
daily study of The Book of Mormon. If you have a personal relationship with your Savior Jesus Christ, you will be sustained and guided and will have that
desire to return to Church and to show Him your love and dedication. Your life will be more peaceful for doing so. I promise you that.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
