The word "Mormon" is the name of a great prophet who lived in the
Americas about 400 AD. He compiled the record of all of his people for 1000 years, beginning at 600 BC and going down to
his time of 400 AD. He recorded not only the history of the people, but their dealings with each other, the teachings of
God to them through their many prophets and
how Christ came to them as a resurrected being after he was crucified in Jerusalem. His son Moroni completed the record
and it came forth centuries later to the prophet Joseph Smith who translated it by the gift and power of God into what is
today called the Book of Mormon,
which is a companion to the Bible and a second witness for Christ. As a matter of fact, the official name of the book is
"The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ".
If you would like to have a copy of this book, please write me back and I would be happy to send you one.
Thank you for asking about my mother. You are exactly right. Our faith continues to be a great comfort and guide to our
whole family over this long struggle that she has had to endure. The gospel of Jesus Christ provides us with the great
knowledge that this life is but a blink of the eye in time compared to eternity, when we will be with all of our loved ones
as long as we are faithful to the things we know to be true.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
