Dear Donny,
It's a terrible time for the people of the USA, your whole country are in our thoughts, but at a time like this when so much pain and senseless loss of life has taken place, do you feel that
your faith in god has been dented. Why have so many died for nothing, I've heard myself say please god don't let them suffer, but surley they have. I do believe in God, but I have to ask
why, especially at a time like this?
Please forgive my sending this e-mail, i don't expect you to have the answer, but your faith is so strong and i wondered has it shocked you?

Thanks so much for the kind words in your email and for your prayers. All of us around the world, not just citizens
of the USA are affected deeply by this senseless tragedy. It is one thing to read about the cruel atrocities committed
against mankind throughout the ages, but when ones homeland is attacked in such a Godless disregard for human
life, it becomes much more personal.
From the beginning of time, God gave men and women on this earth their free agency to act for themselves and to
choose good or evil. It is part of his whole plan of salvation. Those who make correct choices and live righteous lives
and keep his commandments will return one day to live with him in his Celestial Kingdom. Those who spend their
days committing and perpetrating evil will lose the right to be with him through the eternities and their suffering will
be great.
This life is but a brief moment compared to the eons of times that we will live with our Father in Heaven. While you
and I, and countless others grieve for the great personal loss that the families of those thousands of dead and
missing currently suffer, our Lord Jesus Christ has promised to comfort them in their time of grief. In fact, many of
them who believe in Christ are being comforted and feel that peace.
I have a suggestion to help you gain stronger faith and learn how it is possible to endure such trials. I would
like to send two representatives from our church to meet with you. They will explain to you what we believe and
why. After you have had an opportunity to hear and understand the things that they will bring, then you will be able
to determine for yourself whether this will be worth pursuing. I am confident that you will not be disappointed in
what you learn. If you would like me to have them call on you, please email me your address and telephone number
and I will ask them to contact you. I would appreciate knowing what you think after you have heard their message.
