| Question |
Donny,
I know your two oldest brothers are hearing impaired, as am I. I
would like to know if there were any other hearing impaired missionaries
besides your brothers, and how do they follow the temple prayers and
ceremonies? Some of the churches in my town have sign language interpreters
to help. I wanted to know if the same practice happens in your temples if
needed, or do they absolutely have to read lips throughout the whole
ceremony?
Thank you for your time.
God bless.

| Response |
Yes there are many hearing impaired missionaries and they are almost always
assigned to work in areas of the church were American sign language is used
to teach the deaf.
In the temple there are specific sessions which provide "signing" for those
who are hearing impaired. Consequently, they can participate fully in the ordinances and ceremonies that
are provided there.
Hope this is helpful to you.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
