| Question |
Dear Donny, I find your Beliefs website fascinating, even though I am not an LDS member myself or even a practising Christian. I am
curious about one thing: are all LDS members buried after death, or are their bodies sometimes cremated? I would imagine that burial is
desirable, if not obligatory, in order for resurrection to ultimately take place. I must admit I have a mental and emotional block about
burial and cremation, for the simple reason that I cannot imagine not being inside my body, being able to breathe, to see, to be a part of
the lives of those that I love. Cremation does seem to be the norm in the UK these days - I just wondered what the Church's teaching is
on this?

| Response |
The Church’s teachings is that the burial of the body would be preferred, however, in many countries not only is cremation
preferred, but in fact it is the law of the land because of the limited space available for cemeteries. Consequently,
members of the Church who live in countries where there are no choices will be cremated without any concern from the
Church.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
