Did you ever wish that you weren't LDS? Or have there ever been beliefs
or issues that you had trouble with?
|
| Response |
In it you asked if I ever wished that I weren't LDS or have there ever been beliefs or
issues that I had trouble with. In answer to the first question, no, I never wished that I were not LDS. However, in my
teenage years, even though I was born into the
Church, I went through a questioning period and really wanted to know for myself if all of the teachings of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were true. After a lot of study and discussion with others who seemed to know of its
truthfulness, I put all of these teachings to the ultimate test and I began to pray and ask God to help me know without any
doubt or reservation that these things
were true. This was not a casual thing on my part. I was asking
with real serious faith and intent. I was very sincere about not only
wanting to know, but in my asking in prayer and through the sweet
peaceful whisperings of the Spirit of God, I have come to know that not only are all of these doctrines of the LDS Church
true, but following them brings me closer to Him than you can possibly imagine.
I hope this is helpful to you.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
