First of all, just like the temple ordinances the sacred temple garment is also one of those things which can be spoken of only generally outside of the temple. But I can
tell you that those members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who have been to the temple and have received certain blessings have the great privilege of
wearing this special garment. In doing so we are reminded of the blessings the Lord has given us and the important promises we have made to Him concerning the quality
of our lives.
You asked if I wear the garment at all times. I do. You said living in Southern California and wearing the garment in the heat of the summer might be unpleasant. Having
lived in Southern California off and on for several years I did not find it to be any problem at all. Since the garment is made of very lightweight material and is just as
comfortable as any other undergarment.
You asked me what the basis for this doctrine is. To be specific this is not a doctrine, but a principle and a blessing for all those who wish to claim such blessings. When
you finally come to learn personally what those blessings are you will be both anxious and happy to for the privilege of wearing such a sacred garment.
(Bev's comments: I live in the very hot Mojave Desert in Nevada where summer temps. are well into the 110s and above, and I find wearing the Garment to be very comfortable. This is true even when I am
outside gardening, or out walking.)
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
