Question Hi Donny I wanted to know if you were to give a talk on Fellowshipping what would you have to say about that? Give an example if you could?

Response The question is easy, but the answer is difficult because there is so much that could be said on this subject. In fact, if you go to the church’s website (http://www.lds.org) and look for the May and November 2000 issues of the Ensign (our Official LDS Magazine) you will find talks given by general authorities in the April and October conferences on this very subject.

However, in answer to your question I would refer you to several scriptures. The first is found in 3 Nephi 27:27 the essence of which says, "…what manner of men ought ye to be, verily I say unto you even as I am."

The second is found in Mosiah 18:8-10, which among other directives tells us that we must take upon us the burdens of others and stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all places. The third would be found in Moroni 7: 45-47.
"46 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail.
47 But charity is the pure love of Christ, and it endureth forever; and whoso is found possessed of it at the last day, it shall be well with him.
48 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen. "

In addition to those scriptures as a base I would also say that as members of the church we have taken upon ourselves the name of Jesus Christ not only are we to always remember Him and to keep His commandments we are to try and emulate Him, that is to treat others as we would want to be treated if the roles were reversed. I would further point out the great necessity to implore all of us to show genuine friendship and acceptance towards all that we meet. So that people will feel welcome and loved by us.

Sincerely,

Donny Osmond
