You asked about our belief in obeying apostles (Articles of Faith 6) and specifically asked what we believe about baptism. You sighted Acts chapter 2 verse 38 and said that "Jesus gave a commandment to the apostles to baptize everyone in the name of Jesus Christ for the remissions of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Just for clarification, it was Peter in answer to the question from the crowd on the Day of Pentecost as to what they should do who directed them, as we read in Acts 2:38.
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
In answer to your question as to how the LDS Church teaches to be baptized, we believe that a person should be baptized in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Ghost, as directed by our Savior when He instructed His apostles to go into all the world and teach the gospel, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. You can read that in Matthew chapter 28 verse 19.
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
I hope this is helpful to you.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
