| Question |
Dear Donny,
What is your opinion of The Lord's Prayer, and do the LDS use it during their worship/praise gatherings? Or is it personal choice for one's own private prayer time?

| Response |
I love the Lord’s Prayer. I think it is beautiful, inspiring, and poetic. In our worship services, we do not use the Lord’s Prayer, per se, in offering prayer. The Lord’s Prayer was an illustration of how our Savior wanted us to pray. We pray to the Father and we reverence His name. We confess that His kingdom was on the earth, and that His will was to be done in all things. We ask for the things we need, and we thank for all other things He had given us. The words of the Lord’s Prayer are not the significant issue, but the manner of prayer is the significant issue. Again, you’ll notice that He said, "after this manner therefore pray ye." I hope this is helpful.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
