Beliefs > Question & Answer > LDS View of God
| Question |
I'm very easily confussed by religion. I became a Christian 3 years or so ago, but (no disrespect
meant to God or anyone else) I've never become heavily involved, though I did have a bond with Him
as a child. I've never been exposed to other religions, a friend "brought me" into Christianity...but
I'm curious about the LDS. I sent for a copy of The Book of Mormon.
Sorry for rambling. My question is: What should a person focus on first, when trying to fully bring
God into their life? Is there one thing extremely important in the eyes of God that we must do?
There's so much to do and remember. I'd just like to know where to start. He helped you, I'm hoping
He can help me with the same situation (panic).

These are great questions, and this is what I would do if I were you. The problem of deciding what religion is right or what religion
is "best for me," is that you have to know everything at once, and you can’t. Subsequently, let us begin by having representatives of the
church come and visit to explain what we believe and why. By the time they have finished their first meeting with you, you will know
whether this is worth pursuing or not. The things that they introduce to you concerning the nature of God and how Jesus Christ is the
central figure of the "plan of salvation," and what we must do to live with God eternally, will guide you and direct you in such a way that
you will come to know the truth of all things on your own and not by persuasion from someone else.
I would be happy to ask those representatives to call on you, if you would be kind enough to send me your address and telephone
number. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
