Question

I'm christian and my mom says that you all believe that Jesus is not God's son, and that Jesus and Satan are brothers. Was that true? Also, if ya'll do believe in everything us christians do, how come ya'll have a different religious name and church?

We absolutely, positively believe that Jesus Christ is the literal Son, the Only Begotten Son of God our Eternal Father, in the flesh. It is by Him and through Him that we are all saved and able to return once again to the presence of our Heavenly Father. Regarding the brotherhood of Jesus and Satan, we believe that all of us, you and me and every single person to ever live on the earth, were created spiritually by our Heavenly Father (that’s the reason we call Him Father) long before we came to this earth. We lived with Him in that pre-existent world and He taught us. Satan, or Lucifer, was also there because like us he was also a spiritual son of God. But, he rebelled against God and wanted to rob men and women from their own free agency when they came to the earth. As a result, he was cast out of the presence of God along with countless others who chose to follow Satan. Regarding your question as to whether we believe everything that all other Christians believe is a very difficult question to answer because there are so many varied and different Christian religions. Some of them have doctrine that is similar to the doctrine preached by Jesus and His apostles when they were on the earth. Others are teaching a different kind of doctrine but somewhat relative to Christ’s teachings. Since I do not know what church you belong to, I cannot say how much of what we believe is what you believe. But, I can say for clarification that we believe that Jesus Christ is the literal Son of God in the flesh. He is a gorified, resurrected being who atoned for all of the sins of every man or woman who would ever come to this earth. We believe that if we keep all of God’s commandments and live Christ-centered lives and do all that we can to help those in need that we will live with Him throughout the eternities. We believe that the principles and ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ are faith, repentance, baptism by immersion, and the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. We believe exactly in the same organization that existed in the original church, which Christ formed when He was on the earth. We believe the Bible to be the word of God. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that he will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to His kingdom. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men. Regarding your question concerning why we have a different religious name and church than others, I would simply say that the name of our church is the Church of Jesus Christ. The words "of Latter-day Saints" simply distinguish it from the original church that Christ formed 2,000 years ago. This is His church on the earth in these last days, and by name it is the Church of Jesus Christ. As you know, there are many other names of Christian religious that do not call themselves the Church of Jesus Christ, such as Baptist, Lutheran, Catholic, Unitarian, Episcopalian, Presbyterian, Methodist, and Pentecostal and others. As you can see, we are not the only Christians who have a "different" name. All of the major Christian religions are called by different names. I hope this is helpful to you.
