Specifically, it is that the church discourages birth
control generally, but gives no doctrine or policy regarding it past that. Rather, except for the prohibition of abortion, the church allows couples to make
their own private, personal decisions on the use of birth control. You might be interested in a doctrine of our faith in which the Lord says, "it is not meet
that I command men in all things, but that they do many things of their own free will and choice to bring to pass much righteousness, for the power is in
them."
As a consequence, members are directed by the leadership of our church to make it a matter of personal prayer and faith as to their
individual uses of birth control.
