Question

I am fascinated with your religion and wonder if you can explain to me what your belief is about *Galatians 1:6-9 and where it coincides with your Book of Mormon?

The members of the church in Galatia had been taught the gospel and received the ordinances of baptism, and then had subsequently fallen away from the church, at least to the extent that they were not worshipping correctly and were not preaching the word as it had been taught to them. When Paul came for his next visit, he began to call them to repentance for their lack of faithfulness and for listening to perversions of the gospel truth. He even went so far as to tell them that if anyone came to them preaching a gospel that was contrary to that which Christ and His apostles taught, even if it appeared to be an angel, they were not to believe it. (Satan and his followers would try and deceive us by appearing in angelic form.) He literally cursed those who would try and lead the members of Christ’s true church away. I don’t know if you have had a chance to read the Book of Mormon. If you have, you know that it contains the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. It agrees meticulously with the teachings of Christ and the apostles. It is different from the Bible in that instead of being the words of prophets and apostles to the children of Israel, it is the word of God to the prophets who were sent to the people who inhabited the Americas between 600 BC and 400 AD. Doesn’t it seem consistent that the Lord, who never changes, would treat his people on other lands the very same way he has his treated his people in Israel? The Book of Mormon contains the fullness of the gospel, and if you will read it with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith of Christ, He will manifest the truth of it to you by the power of the Holy Ghost.
