Question How is the 'Blessed Mother' viewed in the Mormon faith?

Response We believe that even though the Blessed Mother, Mary, was without a doubt the greatest mortal of her gender, we do not pray to her or through her, we only pray through Jesus Christ our mediator to our Heavenly Father (God). Prayers aren't addressed to Eve, or through Eve,  who is the mother of all living, nor to Sarah, who with Abraham, has entered into her exaltation with her husband as the Mother of Nations. (Genesis 17:16) They are not made to or through any of the saints of either sex, whether they became such by religious decree, or whether they gained that blessed state by faith and righteousness. They're not made to or through Moses, the mediator of the Old Covenant. They aren't even made to our Savior Jesus, the Mediator of the New Covenant, nor to the Holy Ghost, who knows all things and has all power. Our prayers are offered to the Father, and to Him only, but they are always offered in the name of his Only Begotten Son. (see Matthew 6:9)"

Sincerely,

Donny Osmond
