Do you find that you have a hard time keeping the standards of the Church (R-rated movies, suggestive music, etc.) or enforcing Church standards with your sons because of your highly publicized career? Do you feel like some of the guests on your show compromise any of your standards? Do you ever discuss the Church with them?

| Response |
You asked if we find it hard to keep the standards of the church by enforcing church standards for our sons because of my highly publicized career. I am happy to tell you that we have had the same challenges and struggles that all parents have had teaching their children correct principles, and avoiding things that are degrading or demoralizing. I hope that we have done a good job; we have surely tried, and we have done so by the way we live our lives and tried to be examples to our children and by the way that we treat each other in our home. We also do our very best to hold family home evenings every week, study the scriptures, and have our family prayers together. We also found that by keeping our children involved in the many activities the church has to offer and by meeting their friends we are able to assist them in making wise decisions if and when they want our input. I suppose that time will tell how successful we have been. They still are individuals with their own free agency though.
Your next question asked if I felt like some of the guests on my show compromised any of my standards, and whether I discussed the church with them. I have never felt that my standards were being compromised by any of my quests, and I pray that it will always be so. I don’t usually make it a point to discuss religion with these guests, but some of them have asked, and when they do, I am always happy to explain what I believe and why.
Sincerely,
Donny Osmond
