Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

For five years, Donny performed every song perfectly. From his opening number, the beautiful and inspirational "Any Dream Will Do" to the powerful and emotional performance of "Close Every Door" which would bring down the house. By the "Finale," everyone was on their feet cheering and clapping.
Joseph, (starring Donny) opened in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in June of 1992 to rave reviews. The musical went on to break records in almost every city where it played.
These few quotes will give you a small sampling of the countless, excellent reviews that Donny and the
Joseph production received.
"Donny Osmond turns in an exceptional performance! His powerful singing drew a wildly enthusiastic response ... garnering a standing ovation even before the show's final production number!" - Karen Murray, Variety
"Donny Osmond has one of the finest musical theatre voices around!" - David Patrick Stearns, USA Today
Early in the production, Donny and the Canadian touring company of
Joseph recorded a soundtrack which has since been certified quadruple platinum. Although treated as an import in the U.S. (Polygram/Canadian), it continues to outsell other versions of the show's cast recordings (those which do not feature Donny) by a three-to-one margin in U.S. record stores.
Donny hung up his dreamcoat in May of 1997 but was persuaded to "don" it once again in January of 1998. Andrew Lloyd Webber is embarking on a project to videotape his musical productions and
he wanted Donny to be in his taped version of
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. To prepare for the filming, Donny returned to his role as "Joseph" for a seven-week run in Salt Lake City, Utah at Kingsbury Hall. Initially, there were delays in the filming, however, the filming finally took place in July, 1999! The video which is incredible! Is now available for puchase in the US and
