Donny Osmond

I remember walking down the street singing "Puppy Love", young and searching for the answers I could not get at the church I was attending. At about 8, I asked my minister if we were in 'heaven' with God before we came here. He promptly set me straight, or so he thought, and told me 'no'. I just couldn't believe him.

A few years later I became an even bigger Osmond fan. I began to take notice to the mentions about the LDS Church in stories about them. I joined the Osmond Brother Fan Club and received the pamphlet "This We Believe", which I still have. The Osmonds testimony of the Church so simply stated. It covered the basics from Joseph Smith to the Word of Wisdom. I finally got my hands on my very own copy of "The Plan".

As I listened, a door of rememberance opened and my heart burned inside me. When I heard "Before The Beginning" my answer to the question I had asked at 8 was finally answered. I recall listening to the song over and over...making my Aunt and Grandma listen. I remember being so excited and saying, "Do you hear what they are saying!!" I was hooked. I looked more earnestly for anything I could about the Church. I learned almost everything from the Osmonds.

Finally in 1979, I met a member of the Church and he took me to a baptism. Finding members were not as easy in Southeastern Indiana in 1979. I received my own copy of the Book of Mormon that night and met 2 missionaries.

I encouraged the missionaries to visit me; would you believe it took them two weeks? When they finally showed up at my door they asked if they could return and teach me. Unfortunately, that day they could not, so we set an appointment for the next day, which was my 17th birthday.

When they got there they asked the general questions about how much I knew about Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon. They seem amazed about how much I knew. They wanted to know who taught me, I answered, "The Osmonds, of course! Have you never heard 'The Plan?" I also showed them the pamphlet I received.

When I received my father's permission I was baptized 26 Oct 1979.

Since then my mother's parents, sister, one of her daughter's have all been baptized. My husband and I are divorced, but were Sealed in the Ogden Utah Temple. I have two wonderful sons that have been raised in the Church; Matthew 16 and Douglas 13.

I know with all my soul the Chuch is true. I know Joseph Smith was called to restore the Church and that he saw the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. I know that They both live!

I love to study Church Doctrine and History. I teach Gospel Doctrine in my Lawrenceburg Indiana Branch.

I am eternally grateful for the Osmond Family. I love them as I would my own family. I am grateful for this site to share my story.
